Join FYidoctors in Hinton, AB, as a Full-Time Optometrist: part-time at our Hinton Optometry Clinic and part-time with our innovative FYidoctors Mobile Eye Clinic. Clinic:

Founded in 1973, the clinic has a rich history and a loyal patient base that spans generations. With two fully equipped exam lanes and a strong support team of seven—including a Licensed Optician—you’ll enjoy meaningful patient relationships, an unrushed exam environment, and plenty of opportunities for community involvement. Patients come from Hinton, Jasper, Grande Cache, Edson, and Valemount, making this a diverse and engaging practice.
Mobile Eye Clinic:
The FYidoctors Mobile Clinic is a state-of-the-art eye care center on wheels, designed to deliver vision services to communities with limited or no access to eye care. Since its launch, it has provided life-changing access to patients across Alberta.

Equipment:
Located in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, our Hinton clinic offers two days per week in a modern, well-equipped practice with:
- Zeiss OCT
- Zeiss Clarus 500 Fundus Camera
- Autorefractor & Auto Lensmeter
- Zeiss Visual Field
 
The mobile clinic is outfitted with leading diagnostic technology, including:
-Tonoref III
-OCT
-Eidon Retina Camera
-VR Visual Field Goggles (coming soon)
-Auto Phoropter

Optician Opportunity in Red Deer (250909)

Red Deer Eye Care Centre is looking for an enthusiastic Optician with experience fitting contact lenses.
We are a fast-paced, family-oriented optometry office serving thousands of Central Albertans yearly since 1940. Responsibilities:
• Providing excellent patient care and customer experience
• Educating patients about and selecting the eyewear products best suited for their lifestyle and budget
• Educating patients on the care, insertion, and removal of contact lenses
• Assessing the fit of soft, rigid, hybrid, and scleral contact lenses (in conjunction with an optometrist as/if needed)
• Ability to troubleshoot various contact lens complications, again with the assistance of an optometrist as needed
• Adjusting and repairing frames
• Submitting insurance claims and receiving payments
• Becoming cross-trained on scheduling appointments, covering front desk
What we require:
• Passion for helping people see and feel their best
• Proficient computer knowledge, ideally including VisualEyes software (will train)
• Able to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication and phone skills
• Reliable and punctual - must be available to work days, Wednesday evenings (7pm) and Saturdays (9-2pm). Evenings and Saturdays are on a rotation
• Minimum 1 years' experience in an optical environment is required

This is a full-time position, but we could be willing to consider part-time, working into full-time, over the next 1-2 months.

Doctors EyeCare Wetaskiwin is a dynamic, fast paced, family oriented, established and still growing, private optometry practice with patient-centered health care, providing comprehensive eye exams, emergency eye care, dry eye treatments, contact lenses, and boutique eyewear.
