    Student Membership

    Students enrolled at a recognized school of optometry are eligible for registration as a student member.  There is no fee, and students receive the AAO newsletter and other relevant information.

    Optometric Staff & Optician Program

    Benefits for enrolling in the Optometric Staff Program include:

    • Minimum $75 discounted conference fee
    • Electronic AAO Newsletters
    • Opportunity to provide articles for newsletters, help out at conferences, suggest speakers and/or topics for conference

  • Retired Members

    When a registered optometrist retires from the practice of optometry in Alberta, he/she is automatically registered as a Retired Member of the AAO.  There is no charge for application or annual registration fees for this membership status.  Retired members receive appropriate AAO mailings and are invited to the Annual General Meetings.  Retired members must be non-practicing.
