Looking for an Optometric Assistant/ Ophthalmic dispenser to join our team (200102)

Urban Eyecare is a growing practice: we care for patients at 2 locations. We are passionate about eye health, and provide high quality care and products. We are a tight knit team of young professionals that work together as one unit to care for our patients.
We are looking for a dynamic and strong Optometric Assistant/ Dispenser for our locations who can handle all tasks in an optometry office from reception, preliminary testing, to dispensing and quality control. Your main responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Working closely with our optometrists and team mates to provide excellent patient/customer care
Dispensing and educating patients on their eye wear options
Properly taking spectacle measurements manually and using the Visioffice
Optical orders, and verifications
Educating patients on eye health and related issues
Insurance and Alberta Health Care billings
Accurate and careful handling of patient files
Contact lens teaches
Patient follow up calls
Optical inventory - ordering and tracking
Reception and telephone duties
Scheduling and coordinating patient appointments and flow through the office
Preliminary testing
Data entry, accurately completing daily reports
Strong communication skills and attention to detail is a must. An ideal candidate has at least 2-3 years of experience and is self motivated to grow and learn.
