comfortable with technology (we use iPads and computers and other advanced instrumentation throughout the office flow)
willing to learn (will spend their own time outside of your working office hours learning the information that we will need you to discuss with customers and to hone your technical skills)
not afraid to roleplay situations (to improve your confidence in the delivery of our common messages)
willing to follow direction from your manager or the doctor and complete tasks in efficient and timely manner as directed
reliable to show up for work early and are prepared to stay later if a customer requires it
able to meet monthly sales goals
excellent at communication including receiving and relaying messages.
able to work Tuesday evenings and Saturdays
Preference may be given to individuals with prior sales experience; however, the individual's attitude, determination, motivation and character is of utmost importance. On the job training will be provided regardless of amount of previous optical experience.

Full time Optometric Assistant or Optician, Calgary (210323)

Hours: Full time
Start date: April 2021
Experience: 2+ years

Primary responsibilities:
Assist with spectacle frame selection and advise on appropriate lens choices after assessing the patient's visual requirements.
Dispense, adjust and repair eye wear.
Management of eye wear orders.
Assist in management of inventory, including returns and warranties.
General reception duties such as booking appointments, answering phone-calls as needed.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with team members, suppliers and general public.

Requirements:
At least 2 years of experience in eye wear sales.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Self motivated.
Excellent at multitasking.
Enjoys learning and sharing knowledge with team members and patients.
General knowledge of spectacle frame and lens options (specific product training to be provided).
Intermediate computer skills (Windows 10, email, LibreOffice or Microsoft Office).
